I just purchased a home that has a keypad outside the garage for the opener. It is an older Garage Genie.

On the garage door opener is a “learn” button you push. you then punch in a new code on the keypad. This will reset the pass code. the Learn button is located on the actual motorized unit mounted on the garage ceiling. My button is next to the area where the senser and garage push button wires terminate on the motorized unit. Also sometimes there are instructions on the flip cover of the keypad. Hope this helps

If you have at least one remote, you can open that and see the code. If not, get in touch with Genie.
I would recommend asking Genie directly. You should be able to get the model number of the opener. When you do, go to the Genie web site:

Fill in some information and ask your question. They should respond (probably by email) fairly quickly with an answer.
