Garage door won’t open /close properly?
Question by karlo: Garage door won’t open /close properly?
My garage door will not open or close with the remotes, or keypad opener. It will however open with one touch on the wall mounted button, but when I want to close it, I must hold down the button until it fully closes. Any ideas of what to check? Thanks!

it should have a reset button on pad or pulley itself reset if not kill the power to it for a few minutes to reset

If I read the question correctly, the HARDWIRED button works, but the REMOTES do not. If this is your issue, the opener may need to be reprogrammed to recognize the remotes. If is also possible new batteries would help. The signal tends to be weaker in cold weather and weak batteries don’t help.
For the issue of having to hold the button for the door to go down, check the blockage sensor. at teh base of the door. If the sender or receiver is frosted over, or they are not properly aligned, the unit thinks there is something blocking the door and the safety is stopping the door from closing. Holding down the button overrides the safety.
