Does any store sell this type of metal bracket?
Question by ww2db: Does any store sell this type of metal bracket?
Many of you should know that garage door opener remotes usually make use of a small metal bracket to secure itself on the backside of a car’s sun visor flap.
I’m looking to build a gadget to mount something on my car’s sun visor, and I’m looking to make use of two such brackets. Does anyone know where I may be able to buy them?
Thank you!

Go to Walmart and buy a “vanity mirror” in the auto section. They usually have 2 visor clips and the mirrors are cheap. You could take them off of the mirror and incorporate them into your invention.

Remote start. Looking for best buy.?
Question by : Remote start. Looking for best buy.?
I have a Toyota Solara I would like to add remote start to; it is an automatic.
I do not want to have to carry 2 remotes….I currently have 1 for the factory locks.
I need it to work with the car in the garage…maybe 20 feet from house. Don’t need a lot of extra features….just start the car and operate the factory door locks and alarm system.
Any advice on brands/models/stores?
Thanks!

Check out this: http://www.directed.com/security/default.asp
These are all great companies owned by Directed Electronics (DEI), they will have what you are looking for. I have a Python setup right now (881XP), but that’s a little more than what you are looking for. It is a great company though, I’ve installed a lot of equipment and I like the Viper and Python alarms the best. They both make a couple of good remote start setups as well. Check them out. As far as installation, I’d try Circuit City or a local alarm shop. Hope this helps.
