Garage Door Remote Control?

Question by crusher_bg: Garage Door Remote Control?
Ok so i have a remote control for my garage door. The last few weeks it has been working perfectly but this last weeks its been kind of messing around with me. When I press the button the door does not open and when i press it again the door opens. So i decided to change the battery it the remote and see how it goes. I went to the store bought a battery, changed it and now the door does not want to open at all even if i press it a hundred times. Can someone tell me how to reprogram the remote or do something about it. The garage door is Genie Pro Srew Drive. Thank you!

Garage remote only works when remote is very close to receiver?

Question by Mr Blaze: Garage remote only works when remote is very close to receiver?
All 4 of our garage remotes stopped working suddenly. It opens/closes the garage door only if I bring one of the remotes up to the receiver as close as possible. The antenna/wire is still attached and hanging downwards from the receiver. If I take the remote as far as 5 inches away from the antenna/receiver…the remote will not open the garage door. The button on the wall to open/close the garage door still works though.

Bad receiver? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.
I tried all the remotes with new batteries…so I can count that out…The receiver antenna/wire has some kind of hard plastic coating on the very tip. Don’t remember if it has always been there or not.

Is it easy to replace this antenna? What type of wire is it?

Thanks.

Since your remotes all work but at an extreme close prox to the receiver I would venture to say your receiver has had a frequency shift and will need to be re programed. Hope this helps.
